Cub Scout Group at a Geology Museum Sleepover EventSpend a Night at the Geology Museum!

Interested in the Cub Scouts' NOVA Award? Look no further! The Rutgers Geology Museum offers a new Sleepover Program that fulfills the requirements of the 'Down & Dirty' Module of the Cub Scouts' NOVA Award. Boy Scout and Girl Scout groups are also welcome to hold a sleepover event at the Museum. Check out the FAQs for more information about these events and follow this link to request a date.

Sleepover events are offered on Friday evenings (October to May) between the hours of 6:30pm and 9:30am the next morning and are open to Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Groups. A minimum of 20 guests is required per event. Groups cannot exceed 50 people total.


$75/Child, $45/Adult
Children must be a minimum of 5 years old to participate.


A 20% deposit is required upon booking. Full payment is due two weeks prior to event date. Cancellations may be made within 48 hours of event for rescheduling within the Museum's availability. If cancellation occurs within 24 hours of event, customer will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. There will be no refunds for no-shows. The Museum accepts cash, checks, and credit card payments.

7:00 - 8:00pm: Dinosaur-themed Video & Discussion
8:15 - 9:15pm: Fossil Dig Kit & Fossil Fun Patch Tour
9:15 - 9:30pm: Talk to a Scientist/Question Session
9:30pm - Bedtime: Movie & Snacks (Guest Provided)
8:00 - 9:00am: Morning activity (optional)
9:30am - Departure
