Join the Rutgers Geology Museum staff as we paint along with you to create a stunning natural history based masterpiece! The museum will provide you with all the materials and simple instructions to create a painting on a mounted canvas in one 2-hour session.
Our capable, friendly instructor will be there to guide you through the painting process step-by-step and no prior painting or artistic experience is needed. Classes are open to everyone ages 8 and older.
For the Little Artists
Private painting parties can be booked for school aged children on Saturdays and Sundays. Please visit our "Birthday Party" page for more information on this type of party. Don't worry, these parties can be booked for any occassion.
Wine and Dinos Parties
This new event is specially designed for adults and will guide you through painting some of the most popular museum exhibits in the style of some of the most iconic painters or all time. Participants will be receive step-by-step instructions on how to create their masterpiece in one 2-hour session. Our guides will also provide some history behind the style of the painting as well as the science.
These events are BYOB, so gather your friends, snacks and favorite beer or wine (no hard alcohol allowed) and get ready to unleash your inner artist. Participants under the age of 21 are not permitted to bring alcohol into the museum. IDs will be verified at check in.
Pre-registration on our website is required and space is limited to 20 people. Registration for these events can be completed on our website at the following link.
All participants must pay their registration fees in full prior to the date of the class or your spot/s will be cancelled. If the class is full, you will be placed on a waiting list and notified if a spot opens up.
The cost per person is $20 for Rutgers students and staff and $25 for everyone else. The cost includes all the supplies you will need to create your masterpiece. The museum will provide cups, plates, and napkins but you must bring your own snacks and drinks.
