Late Nights

Join us on Wednesday, April 7th and take trip to the South Pole! During this event, participants will learn about Antarctica, Earth's coldest continent, and some of the animals that call this continent home. Plus, our guest speaker will discuss her experience studying seals in this extreme environment!

This virtual, online event will include do-at-home arts & crafts, a trivia game, and a guest presentation. The event is free and open to visitors of all ages!

Activity Schedule

6:00 PM EST: Antarctica Trivia Game

     How much do you know about Antarctica and the animals that live there? Join us and find out!

6:30 PM EST: Ice Cores!

     Supplies Needed: Table salt, sugar, black pepper, and a clear vase/cup/tube/drinking glass/shotglass (narrower and smaller is better).
     Optional: Spoon, Funnel

6:50 PM EST: Guest Presentation about Antarctic Seals

     Bridget Ward, PolarTREC Educator, will give a short presentation about her experience studying seals in Antarctica. 
     Be sure to stay until the end if you have any questions about working in such an extreme location!
