At this time, the Geology Museum is still closed to the public, but many of our educational programs will continue remotely! Below is a list of the current online programs we offer.

   

"Ask A Geologist" Web Series

Ask A Geologist ImageJoin us on certain Thursday evenings for these online sessions, where we hope to engage children and answer their questions! During each event, our geologist will first introduce the day's geologic topic and then answer your questions about it! Events are primarily aimed at elementary and middle school aged children, but all ages are welcome to join and learn something new!

Virtual "Late Night at the Museum" Events

The Rutgers Geology Museum Late Night Gone VirtualOur virtual Late Nights include do-at-home arts & crafts activities, a trivia game, and a presentation by a guest scientist!
Late Nights will run monthly on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 PM EST.

Wednesday, October 6th: Virtual Fossils Late Night
Wednesday, November 3rd: Virtual Polar Late Night
Wednesday, December 1st: Virtual Geologic Cores Late Night

  

Virtual "Amazing Minerals" Patch Tours

Mineral Patch PhotoOur "Amazing Minerals" Patch Tour has been converted to a virtual program! While originally developed for cub scout and girl scout groups, this program is perfect for anyone interested in learning about rocks and minerals. This program costs $10 per participant and includes a Mineral ID kit. This program was developed for children in grades K through 6.

Virtual "Fossil Fun" Patch Tours

Fossil Patch ImageOur "Fossil Fun" Patch Tour has also been converted into a virtual program! While originally developed for cub scout and girl scout groups, this program is perfect for anyone interested in learning about fossils and dinosaurs. This program costs $10 per participant and includes a set of 3 fossils. This program was developed for children in grades K through 6.

Virtual Geology Merit Badge Program for Boy Scouts

Pumpjack PixabayOur newest program was developed specifically for Boy Scouts interested in earning their Geology Merit Badge. This is a two part program, focusing on the Energy Resources Track of the Geology Merit Badge.
