Celebrate your child’s birthday with a party at the Rutgers Geology Museum! Three Saturdays a month, we host a variety of parties for children age five and above. To learn more about payment options, chaperone requirements and other pertinent information, click here (PUT LINK)
Birthday Party FAQs
Q: What happens at birthday parties at RUGM?
A: We offer two party packages, both of which include a two-hour use of the Museum. The first party package includes a guided tour of the Museum or geology themed arts and crafts stations. Scavenger hunts with prizes are included with both options. The second party package allows you to choose your party’s theme (Fossils & Dinosaurs, Ancient Egypt & Mummies, or Gems & Minerals, and goodie bags will be awarded to all child attendees. The activity (tour or arts and crafts) will match the chosen party theme. For more information and pricing, please consult our information page.
Q: How many children may attend birthday parties?
A: Party packages are available for groups up to a maximum of 20 children (including any siblings or other family members attending). A minimum of 1 adult chaperone per every 4 children is required, with a maximum of 10 adult chaperones.
Q: When are birthday parties held?
A: Birthday parties are hosted three Saturdays a month, all except for the third Saturday (which is reserved for tours).
Q: How do I book a birthday party at the museum?
A: Download a copy of the birthday party request form here. Fill it out and return it to the museum a minimum of four (4) weeks before the proposed party date. A member of the museum staff will contact you by phone or email once payment and the form are received to finalize the party arrangements. Reminder: ALL party dates are subject to the museum’s availability.
